Oz Bedroom (Answer)

Have been away in the internetless depths of upstate New York this past week, so posting has not happened, as you may or may not have noticed. Answers to the puzzle posted 9/24/12 below. Here's a hint for those who don't want the answer yet: At one point I'd considered naming this puzzle "Against All Odds."

Your goal was to complete the following nonsense story, which follows a particular pattern, or at least to figure out the pattern therein:

Bouncer
ate wood.
Etcher? Never.
If forum (re:
a fail) vies,
use I axe!
I see a view - no,
seeing photo:
__________
__________

The pattern involves looking only at every other letter in each line. If you ignore the first, third, etc. letter in each line, the list now reads:

one
two
three
four
five
sIx
seven
eight

The title, Oz Bedroom, contains the word zero in the same manner.

One possible solution, then, might be:

A noir noel
at Leon's

Nine and ten, respectively.
